Thank you for this awesome write-up!

I got access to the on demand course today. How long did it take SANS to send your books?

I have talked about the importance of having a basic knowledge of networking on my livestreams and previous blog articles. However, I do not have a dedicated article on it.
I recommend taking the CompTIA Network+ course and certification exam to get the foundational knowledge needed. You can check out my recommendations page to get the Network+ book.

I really appreciate how you made it simple with those tips and stayed positive and motivational!

Put in the time, revisit the material, additional research, practice, practice, and practice. Well done!

Thanks for your response and your help.

After further investigation (VBox/Microsoft forums) I just may have found the issue. It seems like the VPN client software that I use is conflicting with Virtualbox in some way. I have turned off the VPN client software and haven’t had any BSOD’s (BSOD’s were happening on the host machine, not the VM instances) after 5-6 sleep/wake cycles. Fingers crossed… I let you know.
